Karachi, Pakistan – January 30, 2017 – Artistic Fabric & Garment Industries (AFGI) is proud to announce its state-of-the-art denim factories are now certified LEED Gold through the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design program. AFGI scored the highest rating points in Pakistan till date and remains dedicated to leading the industry towards a sustainable denim future.
This news follows last year’s announcement that AFGI’s other flagship manufacturing facility received LEED Silver certification. The certification program by the United State Green Building Council (USGBC) assures that "no matter where a LEED project is, its certification is an achievement in green building that’s recognized around the world."
Winning and maintaining LEED certification is only one facet of AFGI’s holistic approach to sustainability, which includes reducing water and chemical usage, “green” garment finishes, and fabrics made from postconsumer waste clothing and plastic bottles.
